Have you every noticed when you are around other people
and start talking directly about Jesus Christ how people will start to be
silent? It is strange, you can even do it in Church and it seems people just
have other things to talk about. I don't know why, but to me, talking about
Jesus Christ is the best topic. Acting like Him is even better. Meeting Him
and knowing Him is the best!
I was reading the below devotional from Radio Bible Class this morning and
really like what it was saying:
.
This is exactly what Jesus had in mind when He said, "You are the light of the
world" (Matt. 5:14). It’s a powerful word picture of the impact of contrast.
There should be a recognizable difference between the integrity of Christians
and the prevailing darkness of our world."It’s not about making speeches for Jesus; it’s about
people observing us. Even though they may not want to hear about Jesus, you
can be sure they’re watching to see if He makes a difference in our lives.
When Jesus said, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your
good works" (v.16), He was saying that before we can speak up we have to show
up. Our capacity to shine for Jesus is measured by our good works, which
reveal His compelling reality in our lives.
Let's turn on the lights. "
Quoted From "Turn
On The Lights"
Salt and Light
"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt
loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for
anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men. "You are the light of
the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp
and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light
to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men,
that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. ~ Matthew
5:13-16
